REFERENDUM ON PROPOSED CONSTITUTION
FOR THE DARTMOUTH CLASS OF 1984

Dartmouth '84s,

Please enter your name below to vote on our proposed Class Constitution.

Your Class Executive Committee has approved a class-wide referendum for approval of our Class Constitution. Voting begins on May 29, 2010 and continues through June 30, 2010. Approval is required by two-thirds of the members of the Class who vote in this referendum.

Our Class has never had a class constitution in force to govern its activities. The proposed Class Constitution is taken from a standard draft provided by the College and augmented through revisions that address issues on our definition of purpose, the holding of Class meetings, terms of office and methods of election or appointment to the Class Executive Committee and Nominating Committee.

We are also proposing a new position of "Class Trustee," where four members of our Class shall serve on the Class Executive Committee as Class Trustees for up to two five-year terms, with the purpose of providing continuity and oversight in the governance of the Class.

You can download the proposed Class Constitution for your review; please submit any questions to constitution@dartmouth84.org.
